If you were to imagine a stunning and absolutely breathtaking wedding venue where to celebrate your destination wedding in Italy, the city of Orvieto would absolutely be on the top of your list.
Orvieto, ancient land of the Etruscans, is situated on the top of a volcanic tuff cliff know as “La Rupe”, ridded with hundreds of caves, tunnels and wells and perfectly combining three thousand years of history with nature.
Just 10 minutes far from this picturesque scenery, in the middle of the beautiful Umbrian countryside, stands La Badia di Orvieto, a XII century Benedictine Abbey where getting married is more than a dream come true.
Anastasia and Alex, together with their closest friends and families, came from UK and India in this exclusive wedding venue. They had a religious catholic ceremony inside the 12th century Romanesque church, adorned with 12th and 14th century frescoes and marble floor. Catherine from The Wedding Boutique Italy, perfectly decorated it, making this place the perfect setting for a romantic ceremony.
They had a typical Italian wedding reception alfresco, in the ancient Sala Capitolare, under the ancient ruins of gothic arches and tower. This is now an outstanding terrace with a breathtaking view on Orvieto tuff cliff where they also danced all night long under thousands of stars.
